Hello friends and family,
Sorry I didn't write last week, I had a bit of a crazy Monday. We had our truck back from the last time it was in the shop, but it was still having problems so we took it back to the dealership last Monday morning. We just got the truck back today, and that's the second best thing that's happened to me this week. It's seriously been awful trying to work without a car. The other elders here in Decatur have been doing their best to help us out, but it was hard for all of us.
Despite our challenges with the car, we've continued to see miracles here. On Friday, our friend Matthew accepted the invitation to be baptized. He has strong faith in God and Jesus Christ and is coming to know the truthfulness in the Book of Mormon, and he finally feels confident enough to make the decision to make and keep covenants with God. We're hoping to have him baptized on the 18th of this month. He came with his son Leopold to see the Sunday morning session of general conference at a member's house with us and I think he's excited to know he's doing what God wants for him.
General conference was great. My favorite talk was elder Brown's talk about testimonies. His thoughts on the eternal nature of testimonies especially struck me. Testimonies are not intended for temporary use. Remember to keep and cherish them forever.
Elder Mullins
